 WELCOME AND PRAYER

 INVOCATION
 L: We begin this hour of worship in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

 All: Amen.

CONFESSION

 L: Let us confess our sin in the presence of God and of one another.

 All: Most merciful God, we confess that we are captive to sin and cannot free ourselves.

We have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. For the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us.

 Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy name.
 Amen.

 ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS

 P: In the mercy of Almighty God, Jesus Christ was given to die for you, and for his sake God forgives you all your sins. To those who believe in Jesus Christ he gives the power to become the children of God and bestows on them the Holy Spirit.
 All: Amen

OPENING HYMN - NOW ALL THE VAULTS OF HEAVEN RESOUND

 Now all the vaults of heaven resound
In praise of love that still abounds
Christ has triumphed! He is living!
Sing, Choirs of angels, loud and clear!
Repeat their song of glory here:
“Christ has triumphed! His is living!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

 Oh, fill us, Lord, with dauntless love
Set heart and will on things above
that we conquer through Your triumph
Grant grace sufficient for life’s day
That by our lives we truly say
 “Christ has triumphed, He is living!”
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

 Adoring praises now we bring
 and with the heavenly blessed sing
“Christ has triumphed, Alleluia! “
 Be to the Father and our Lord
 To Spirit blest, most holy God
 All the glory, never ending
 Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

 PRAYER OF THE DAY

L: The Lord be with you.

 ALL: And also with you.

L: Let us pray together.

 ALL: Gracious God, thank you for sending your Holy Spirit to our world. Although we are all sinners, you have chosen to love us just as we are. Help us to trust in your great love so that all people may receive the power you offer.

L: In Jesus' name we pray.

 ALL: Amen.

 FIRST LESSON

Romans 3:22–25
 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—

 GOSPEL ACCLAMATION

Alleluia, Alleluia
 Alleluia, Alleluia!

 GOSPEL

Mark 2:15–17
 While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and “sinners” were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the “sinners” and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and ‘sin- ners’?” On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

NICENE CREED

 We believe in one God,
 the Father, the Almighty,
 maker of heaven and earth,

of all that is, seen and unseen.

 We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,

the only Son of God,
 eternally begotten of the Father,

God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
 begotten, not made,

of one Being with the Father;
through him all things were made.

 For us and for our salvation
 he came down from heaven,
 was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary
 and became truly human.
 For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
 he suffered death and was buried.
 On the third day he rose again
 in accordance with the scriptures;
 he ascended into heaven
 and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
 He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,

and his kingdom will have no end.

 We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
 who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
 who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified,

who has spoken through the prophets.
 We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church.
 We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

We look for the resurrection of the dead,
 and the life of the world to come. Amen.

 MESSAGE

 HYMN - WE FALL DOWN
 We fall down
 We lay our crowns

At the feet of Jesus
The greatness of Mercy and love
At the feet of Jesus

 And we cry holy, holy, holy

We cry holy, holy, holy
 We cry holy, holy, holy
 Is the lamb

 We fall down
 We lay our crowns

At the feet of Jesus
The greatness of
Your mercy and love
At the feet of Jesus

 And we cry holy, holy, holy

We cry holy, holy, holy
 We cry holy, holy, holy
 Is the lamb

 And we cry holy, holy, holy
We cry holy, holy, holy
 We cry holy, holy, holy
 Is the lamb

 PRAYERS OF THE CHURCH

 THE LORD’S PRAYER

 Our Father, Who art in heaven,
 Hallowed be Thy name
 Thy Kingdom come,
 Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven
 Give us this day our daily bread
 And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass

against us.  And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil
For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever
and ever. Amen

 BLESSING FOR THE JOURNEY

 HYMN - CLOSING HYMN - CHRIST IS RISEN! HALLELUJAH!
 Christ is risen! Hallelujah!
 Risen our victorious Head;
 Sing His praises; Hallelujah!

Christ is risen from the dead.
Gratefully our hearts adore Him,
As His light once more appears;
Bowing down in joy before Him,
Rising up from griefs and tears.

 Christ is risen: Hallelujah!

Risen our victorious Head;
Sing His praises; Hallelujah!
Christ is risen from the dead.

 Christ is risen! All the sadness
 Of His earthly life is o’er;
 Through the open gates of gladness

He returns to life once more;
 Death and hell before Him bending,

He doth rise the Victor now,
 Angels on His steps attending,

Glory round His wounded brow.

 Christ is risen: Hallelujah!

Risen our victorious Head;

 Sing His praises; Hallelujah!

Christ is risen from the dead.

 Christ is risen! Henceforth never

Death nor hell shall us enthrall;
 We are Christ’s, in Him forever
 We have triumphed over all;
 All the doubting and dejection
 Of our trembling hearts have ceased,

’Tis His day of resurrection;
 Let us rise and keep the feast.

 Christ is risen: Hallelujah!

Risen our victorious Head;
Sing His praises; Hallelujah!
Christ is risen from the dead.

 GO IN PEACE

 L: Go in Peace and Serve the Lord

 All: Thanks be to God.
