Jesus served others. He modeled and even instructed his followers to serve others in love. When we take the time to help others, we stop thinking about ourselves so much. We grow closer to Jesus and others when we give of ourselves and in the process, we make the world a better place!
When a car is out of alignment, the steering wheel can shake and even cause the car to veer off the road. In the same way, when we serve others, we find alignment with Jesus and our journey is smoother.

REAL PEOPLE
We are imperfect people seeking to follow Jesus.
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Romans 3:23
Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Mark 2:17

INCLUSIVE GOD
We believe God loves all people regardless of their gender, RACE, nationality, education, orientation, past history or religious background. That means you!
There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:23
This is what love is: it is not that we have loved God,
but that God loved us.

Galatians 3:23

RADICAL GRACE
God loves all of us, period. That is a free gift! Jesus shows us God’s love by seeking a personal connection with each and every one of us at no cost.
For it is by God’s grace that you have been saved through faith. It is not the result of your own efforts, but God’s gift, so that no one can boast about it. Ephesians 2:8-9
inspired growth
The Spirit grows our desire to dive deeper in our relationship with Jesus and to love one another.
What God commands is that we believe in his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as Christ commanded us. Those who obey God’s commands live in union with God and God lives in union with them. And because of the Spirit that God has given us we know that God lives in union with us.

Draw near to God, and God will draw near to you.

Community in WORSHIP
Worship is central to who we are as followers of Jesus. We worship as a community, and not in isolation. We seek connection to God and one another in worship. We open our hearts and minds to God and one another as we worship.
We want to worship as if every weekend is Christmas — where we experience the warmth of God’s love and a closeness to our church family.

- Jesus said, “But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth.” John 4:23
- Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. Colossians 3:16
- Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another. Hebrews 10:25
Seek to LEARN
God does not want us to be stagnant in our relationship with Jesus! Learning helps us discover God’s will for our lives and the world around us. Growth occurs when we spend time seeking the truth of God’s love and prioritizing that love in all we say and do.
We seek to learn as if it is finals week at school!

- Our goal… is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord. Ephesians 4:12–13
- Jesus said, “I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Heavenly Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit—fruit that will last.” John 15:15–16 (NIV84)
Alignment in SERVICE

- Jesus said, “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:26 & 28
- Jesus asked, “For who is greater, the one who is at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.” Luke 22:27
Transformed by GENEROSITY
We know that a person’s life changes when they practice generosity. There are givers and there are takers in this life. The most joyful people are givers. Our God is a giver. Jesus gave everything- including his life- out of love for us. We give of ourselves and what we have because it draws us closer to the One who gave us everything.
Everyone has something to give, and every act of generosity counts.
We generously give at Community Lutheran Church as if it is “Giving Tuesday” every week.

- Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each person should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:6–7
- A generous person will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed. Proverbs 11:25
